When they came to us, the business had strong word-of-mouth but limited organic visibility for the searches that bring in new guests.

The Challenge

Despite being well-located, and extremely well-reviewed, the site was ranking on average at position 33 in Google. Deep enough that the guests most likely to book weren’t finding it.

The searches that drive occupancy for a rural B&B, “places to stay in the peak district,” “dog friendly b&b peak district,” “best place to stay near chatsworth”, all had meaningful monthly volumes, but Robin Hood Farm wasn’t competing for any of them. Guests who hadn’t already heard of the property had no way of discovering it through search.

Our Approach

Before rankings could move, the site needed to be in a position to compete. We started with a full technical audit, identifying and resolving the structural issues that were preventing the site from being properly crawled and indexed. Broken links were fixed, site architecture was tightened, and internal linking was restructured so that authority flowed to the pages that mattered most.

With the foundations in place, we worked through on-page optimisation across the key landing pages: rewriting titles, meta descriptions, and page content to target the right search terms. For a B&B, personality is part of what guests are buying, we made sure the SEO didn’t strip that out.

Content was then built to capture the broader Peak District search ecosystem. Beyond direct accommodation searches, guests planning a trip search for things to do, places to eat, seasonal events, and the best areas to stay. Ranking across that wider landscape puts Robin Hood Farm in front of people earlier in their decision, before they’ve committed to a destination, let alone a property.

Dog-friendly is a major booking driver for rural B&Bs, and that cluster has moved too. “Dog friendly b and b peak district” now ranks on page 1, and the site is pulling in clicks across a range of related terms “dog friendly b&b peak district”, “dog friendly b&b derbyshire”.
